Editorial Policy
Last Updated: May 5, 2026
Parenting Life Lab exists to help parents make small, evidence-based decisions about emotional skills, confidence, routines, and family planning. This page describes the standards every article on the site is held to, before publication and after.
Who Writes Here
All articles are written and edited by K P S Moeller, the founder and sole editorial voice of Parenting Life Lab. Every piece reflects a parent who has lived the situation, read the research, and is willing to say what worked, what failed, and where the evidence is uncertain. We do not publish anonymous content, AI-generated copy passed off as human, or syndicated articles from other sites.
Sourcing Standards
Every article is anchored to at least one named, verifiable source — typically a published book by a clinician, researcher, or developmental psychologist whose work is widely available. We name the book and author at the bottom of each article, and we link to the public version of the source whenever a direct citation is used. We do not invent statistics, paraphrase findings without attribution, or use vague phrases like "studies show" without specifying which.
Voice and Tone
We write the way a calm, thoughtful parent talks to another parent over coffee. That means short sentences mixed with longer ones, real examples, honest uncertainty, and explicit notes about when an idea does not apply. We avoid filler phrases ("dive into," "in this article," "here's the thing"), emojis in body copy, and the cheerful corporate tone that makes parenting content feel like a brochure.
Updates and Corrections
Each article carries a Last Updated date at the top. When new research, new lived experience, or a reader correction changes the substance of an article, we revise the article and bump the date. Minor copy edits do not trigger a date change. If we discover a factual error, we correct it inline and add a short note at the bottom of the article describing what changed and when.
What This Site Is Not
Parenting Life Lab is not medical, psychological, or legal advice. We write for parents navigating ordinary family life, not for clinicians treating diagnosable conditions. If your child's behavior, emotional state, or development is causing serious worry, we will always point you toward a qualified professional rather than a blog post.
Independence and Conflicts of Interest
We earn a small commission when readers buy a recommended book through Audible or Amazon. We never recommend a book we have not read or that we do not genuinely think a parent will benefit from. No publisher, brand, or institution pays for placement, mention, or favorable framing. Sponsored content, if it ever appears, will be clearly labeled as such.
How to Reach Us
Corrections, factual disputes, or questions about our process can be sent to hello@parentinglifelab.info. We read every message and respond to substantive corrections within five business days.
